What is architectural visualisation?

Architectural design, visualisation, or architectural rendering, is an art which involves understanding three-dimensional spaces and the attributes of a proposed architectural design.

Fusing architectural plans with three-dimensional computer graphics, we are able to build dimensionally accurate, scaled models of all sizes. Combining cad and animation software used also by Hollywood film producers, we are able to produce photo-realistic visualisations.

How are they made?

At Franklin Rees Associates we believe that the scaling of your model is an absolute necessity. That why architectural design software is used to reference drawings, to the pinpoint. Utilising the architect’s plans in an electronic or paper based format, they are converted in to a working three-dimensional wire frame model.

Once the wire frame is complete, the model is moved in to specialist three-dimensional design software. It is here that the design comes alive, with landscaping, textures and lighting.

Replicating the behavioural characteristics of real-world light and materials, the boundaries of visualisation are pushed.

Rendering techniques such as shading, light source, or depth cueing are used to make the image look ultra realistic.

How do I get an architectural visualisation?

1. Collate all drawings, plans, elevations, site plans and texture information

2. Decide on the number of images that you require. Mark approximate viewpoint positions on the site plan

3. Click on 'Get a quote' or telephone 0121 523 1015

4. Upload drawings for a tailored no-obligation quote

5. Accept quotation by written confirmation. Fax or mail is suitable

6. Building modelling will begin. An advance image illustrating the building mass will be sent to the client for approval

7. The landscaping, and other scene assets will be modelled. Further advances will be sent

8. Textures will be created and applied to the image. Final scene adjustments and lighting will be defined. The client will receive the final image in low resolution format for approval. Any changes should be noted at this point and corrected

9. High resolution, detailed images are rendered. Dependent upon the project these shall be sent to the client, or directly through to our marketing department for use in further production material such as brochures or signage
